After arriving at Georgetown you will check in with the Bethlehem census takers who will direct you to the city market area where you will have the opportunity to see life as it might have been in 1st century Bethlehem. There you will find a blacksmith, candle makers, basket weavers and much more.
Your “Journey” will begin as you proceed to the Bethlehem Inn and sense the emotions of that first Christmas night when Mary and Joseph were desperate to find
lodging but to no avail. You will encounter various players in the Christmas story, namely Herod, the shepherds and the wise men, and of course baby Jesus.
The story of Christmas is the most amazing story ever shared with the world. It is a story of peace, joy and life.
Christmas is not a fairy-tale or make believe story we tell our kids just to create a mythical feel good image. Christmas is the reality that God took on human flesh in the form of a baby. That baby grew to be a man who was sinless and perfect in every way. His name is Jesus and He came to save the whole world from the death penalty of sin.
Georgetown Baptist Church recreates the story of Jesus’ birth through Nativity Live. You will experience the sights, sounds, smells, and the atmosphere of what it was like in the little town of Bethlehem over 2,000 years ago.
From the Roman soldiers exerting undue authority over the Jewish people, to the shops, the Innkeeper, the shepherds, paranoid King Herod, the Wise men, the animals, the angels, Mary and Joseph and baby Jesus in the manger. It all comes to life and it is as if you are there as this momentous event in history is taking place.
Nativity Live will bring your Christmas celebration to life in a way you can’t imagine until you see it with your own eyes. Make plans to take a “journey to Bethlehem.” Bring your friends, neighbors and family to experience this life changing story together.
